After a long day exploring the outdoors, you will no doubt be curious to check out the ‘after dark’ scene in Dominica, where you get a real taste of local island vibes.

Although nightlife in Dominica is somewhat sedate, there are lots of watering holes and rum shops where you can go pull up a stool and ‘lyme’ with true Dominicans.

Whether you like to dance to reggae music or just hang out on the side of the road, you will find a happening spot in many villages across the island.

On Friday nights, you are sure to find a B-B-Q grill at every corner, roadside stalls serving steamed fish, and locals partying to Soca and Calypso music.

Hot spots include: Live music at Harlem Plaza, Big Papas for Reggae Night, Jerk Fest and Karaoke, Kimon’s Fish Bar in Point Mitchel, and Garage Bar and Grill.

For a real down-to-earth, late night experience, you can’t miss Melvina’s Bar and Spider’s for special infused rum and hot spider pies.
